ELEGANT, UNTAMED ASHRIDGE HOUSE WEDDING FLOWERS | HERTFORDSHIRE WEDDING FLORIST

Leena and Dani decided to tie the knot at Ashridge House, a stunning Grade I listed historical gem that was once home to King Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I. With its breathtaking architecture and 190 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, this venue provides an idyllic setting for an unforgettable wedding day.

As someone who has always dreamed of working at Ashridge House, I was beyond excited when the couple reached out to me to be their Hertfordshire wedding florist. Fast-forward to the big day: stepping into the venue took my breath away—I was completely captivated by its grandeur and beauty. It’s truly a magical place!

Stick around to see how we enhanced Leena and Dani’s special day with elegant, beautiful wedding flowers that perfectly complemented their vision, and hopefully, find some inspiration for your own wedding!

ELEGANT, UNTAMED ASHRIDGE HOUSE WEDDING FLOWERS IN A WARM-NEUTRAL COLOUR PALETTE

Leena and Dani had a beautiful vision for their wedding flowers—something classy, elegant, and romantic, with just a hint of untamed charm to capture a natural vibe. The bride was drawn to a warm, neutral, earthy colour palette. To bring this vision to life, I chose a lovely mix of textural blooms in soft whites, ivories, sand, beige, and warm, gentle browns. Think Playa Blanca and Quicksand roses, delicate white Lisianthus Alissa, the striking, reflexed Mochaccino rose, pale blush Ranunculus, and charming Lisianthus Bohemian Choco. I also incorporated some highly textural, delicate and bouncy Allium Neopolitanum and a variety of beautiful, textural foliage elements to create an effortlessly elegant look.

The bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets were created in our signature style – modern, slightly unstructured, untamed and layered. Each flower was given its moment to shine, with soft, bouncy blooms playfully dancing above the bouquet’s outline. We topped it all off with flowing, ivory chiffon-silk ribbons that added a beautifully romantic touch.

The buttonholes were highly textural, and tied with a matching ribbon, creating a cohesive look.

ASHRIDGE HOUSE CEREMONY FLOWERS

The bride and groom gracefully descended the long, stunning staircase from opposite ends, meeting in the middle at the top of Ashridge House’s iconic stairs. It was a moment filled with anticipation and joy as they exchanged their vows, surrounded by beautiful, untamed florals adorning the steps. The soft hues of the blooms complemented the grandeur of the staircase and the venue, creating a relaxed yet captivating atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of their special day.

ASHRIDGE HOUSE RECEPTION FLOWERS

The ceremony flowers were absolutely stunning and later transitioned beautifully to the front of the top table, adorning the bride and groom, as well as their nearest and dearest, throughout the day. Given the richness of their reception space, the couple opted for a minimalist approach to their centrepieces. We elegantly dressed their round tables with a handful of clear glass bud vases, each filled with delightful blooms that harmonised perfectly with the overall floral theme.

Additionally, some of the flowers from the staircase were repurposed to adorn the cake table later in the evening, adding a touch of floral elegance to the dessert display. It all came together beautifully!

If you’re interested in learning how to creatively repurpose your ceremony flowers for the reception, take a look at one of my recent blog post, where I discuss this topic in more detail.

Leena and Dani are just the sweetest couple, and being part of their big day was an absolute joy! I can still picture the moment I delivered the bouquets to Leena, where she was getting ready with her beautiful bridesmaids and her lovely mum. Their excitement and admiration for the flowers warmed my heart—these moments are truly some of the highlights of my job!

Creating floral magic at Ashridge House was an unforgettable experience. I instantly fell in love with this magnificent venue, its breathtaking surroundings and the lovely and most helpful staff. I can't wait to return soon!
