Priyanjali and Jonny decided to have two wedding celebrations. They planned to have a small, intimate wedding in the UK, in the presence of a handful of their nearest and dearest, followed by a larger celebration with all their family and friends in Sri Lanka a few months later. I had the honour of helping them to make their intimate wedding celebration extra special.
Keep on reading to learn how we enhanced their gorgeous Danesfield House wedding with beautiful, elegant floral designs and to get some ideas for how you can honour the memory of your loved ones on your wedding day.
ELEGANT WHITE, PEACH AND BLUSH WEDDING FLOWERS
Danesfield House is a luxurious hotel located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The hotel features elegant architecture, beautifully landscaped gardens, and stunning surroundings, making it an ideal setting for a fairytale wedding. The elegant ceremony room is well-known for its delicate pink walls, golden embellishments, and crystal chandeliers that add to its grandeur.
We aimed to have Priyanjali & Jonny’s flowers complement the look of their venue and the bride’s beautiful peach-coloured bridal saree. We created a minimalistic, elegant floral décor for them using delicate shades of ivory, white, peach, and blush, which brought everything together perfectly. To achieve this look, we used fully opened playa blanca roses, blush ranunculus, freshly fragrant apricot matthiola, blush and white frilly lisianthus, lacey allium neopolitanum, textural pink genista, and other beautiful floral varieties.
Priyanjali's beloved grandmother was unable to travel from Sri Lanka to attend the wedding due to her health. To ensure her presence at the wedding, the bride asked me to attach a charm with her grandma's picture to her bridal bouquet, which was a very sweet and thoughtful gesture.
DANESFIELD HOUSE CEREMONY FLOWERS
We utilised the beautiful mantelpiece in the Versailles room and adorned it with elegant, textural flowers, creating a stunning backdrop for Priyanjali & Jonny’s ceremony. Since the couple only had about twenty guests, there weren’t many rows of chairs in the grand room, leaving us with much empty space. To fill the void, we decorated the aisle with beautiful floral pieces, glass cylinder vases with pillar candles and sprinkled rose petals. This helped us create a lovely, romantic ambience and perfectly adorn the bride’s walk down the aisle.
The couple honoured the memory of their loved ones by placing their framed photos and a single white rose on the chairs during the ceremony. They also lit a candle for them during the reception, which was very touching.
DANESFIELD HOUSE RECEPTION FLOWERS
We ensured that all of Priyanjali & Jonny’s ceremony flowers could be repurposed during their reception, allowing them to make the most of their gorgeous florals. The ceremony flowers from the mantle were moved to the mantle in the Henley room, adorning it for the rest of the day. The aisle décor and candles were also dotted around that room, creating a gorgeous pop of colour and a romantic ambience.
The couple and their guests sat at a large, oval table for their wedding breakfast, which we decorated with minimalistic yet beautiful clear glass bud vases filled with gorgeous flowers, tapered candles, and tea light holders.
I absolutely loved working with this sweet couple and helping to make their wedding day extra special, and I look forward to returning to the gorgeous Danesfield House Hotel soon!
